Sales Engineer - Southeast Michigan / Northwest Ohio

Position Summary:
Responsible for providing design support, application support, installation/commissioning support and training on Comfort Engineering Solutions (CES)/Young Supply Company (YSC) supplied commercial HVAC systems to the consulting engineering bid/spec and design/build communities.

The essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Provide technical support on product specification, layout, design, application, and installation of CES/YSC Commercial Applied Products, including but not limited to TACO Hydronics, Watts Radiant, iWorx Building Automation, LG VRF and DFS systems, Burnham/HTP boilers, and Rheem Commercial HVAC products.
  • Conduct and generate technical design, application, and installation training on product specification, layout, design, and application to support SE Michigan / NW Ohio sales.
  • Work with Manufacturer’s engineers and local Manufacturer’s Rep to assist in developing and maintaining technical documentation, such as design basics, application notes, and white papers to support engineering and specifying activities.
  • Work with CES Sales Engineers and YSC Territory Managers to ensure product code compliance.
  • Interface with YSC Territory Mangers on a continuous basis to ensure all customer expectations and requests are being met for product technical information and installation support.
  • Run and audit manufacturer’s proprietary software tools to aid in the system design in terms of mechanical and electrical layout, including energy modeling.
  • Survey and analyze competitive products for consultation with other CES/YSC employees.
  • Using YSC GUI system, prepare estimates, quotes, product proposals, and cost benefits as needed.
  • Assist CES Sales Engineers, architects/consulting engineers, design/build contractors with layout and design of Hydronic and HVAC systems in SE Michigan / NW Ohio.
  • Review system design/layout drawings as needed with other customers.
  • Assist engineers and design/build contractors in determining optimal equipment needs based on building heating and cooling loads.
  • Interface with Property Owners, Facility Managers, Building Managers, Engineers, Architects, and Contractors on technical issues as needed.
  • Attend site visits with YSC/CES staff, as needed, before, during, and after equipment installation and commissioning.
  • Develop ongoing relationships with CES/YSC staff and key customers.

The non-essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Various support functions relating to specific sales activities and opportunities.
  • Other tasks and projects as requested.

Experience/Training:
  • Degree in mechanical or electrical engineering preferred.
  • Prefer 10 years minimum engineering design experience in Hydronics and HVAC with energy modeling background.
  • Prefer LEED AP accreditation or experience LEED certification process.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, training, and technical writing skills.
  • Strong computer skills required, especially with Microsoft Office programs including PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
  • Analytical approach to problem solving.
  • Team oriented and self motivated.

Sales Engineer - West Michigan

Position Summary:

Truck Driver - Detroit Distribution Center

Title Truck Driver

Shift / Weekly Hours: 6-8 hours per day / 30-40 hours per week

Duties & Primary Responsibilities: The Truck Drivers at Young Supply deliver supplies and products to the branches of the company or to customers. Their objective is to deliver products in a safe and timely manner. They are to maintain proper documentation and logs of the goods they are hauling. Drivers are also expected to ensure proper functionality of their company provided delivery vehicle by way of regular inspection and maintenance. Drivers are expected to create and maintain various logs, such as vehicle logs, cargo logs, transfer logs, etc. They are also expected to keep current on driving regulations and required certifications to perform their job.

Other Roles & Functions: Drivers are to report delays or other transportation issues to their respective branches, or in the case of a customer delivery, to the client. They are to obey traffic laws and company policies and procedures.

All Young Supply employees are required to comply with Federal, State and company policies, procedures and regulations.

Qualifications:
  • Possess a valid Chauffeur license, or in the case of commercial vehicle operators, a valid Commercial Driver License
  • Ability to operate large vehicles

Inside Sales - Lincoln Park, MI

Title: Counter Sales Clerk

Shift / Weekly Hours: 6 to 8 hours per day / 30 to 40 hours per week

Duties & Primary Responsibilities: Counter Sales Clerks have direct contact with the customer. Counter Sales Clerks greet customers, determine the customer’s needs, describe merchandise to the customers and answer the customer’s questions. Additionally, a sales clerk is responsible for entering and pulling orders as well as completing customer transactions. They are expected to compute sales prices and process the order. Counter Sales Clerks are expected to keep up to date on current sales, promotions and policies regarding products, payments, exchanges, etc.

Other Roles & Functions:
Counter Sales Clerks may need to provide product demonstrations to customers. Additionally, they will be required to answer the store phone
